Publication Requirements

The International Journal of Economic Studies is an international, peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to publishing studies and research in the fields of economics and accounting in Arabic, English, and French. Authors are required to comply with the following rules:

  • The submitted manuscript must be original and must not have been submitted for publication elsewhere. The author must provide a declaration confirming this.

  • The submitted research must constitute an independent work and must not form part of a previously published book.

  • The manuscript submitted to the journal must not be under consideration for publication by any other journal or publishing entity.

  • Submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening software to prevent academic misconduct. Authors must comply with the journal's requirements regarding acceptable similarity levels.

  • The journal does not permit authors to use or suggest recommended reviewers at any stage of the submission or peer-review process, whether through the online submission system or any other means of communication.

  • The author list must include all individuals who have a legitimate claim to authorship.

  • Authors must follow recognized academic standards in the preparation and writing of research, particularly with regard to identifying sources of information, properly documenting quotations, and maintaining academic integrity when citing references and sources.

  • Authors must review and comply with the journal's publication ethics and editorial policies and assume responsibility for adherence to them.

  • Authors must disclose whether the research has been funded by an academic institution, research organization, or any other funding body.

Article Submission Files

To ensure a properly structured submission process and to maintain compliance with international transparency standards and the Double-Blind Peer Review system, authors are required to upload three separate and independent files through the online submission platform when submitting their manuscript, in full compliance with the following methodological and technical requirements:

File 1: Title Page and Author Information

A separate file containing the complete title of the article in the original language and an accurate English translation of the title; the full names of all authors; their academic ranks; their institutional affiliations; professional email addresses; and the active international digital identifier (ORCID iD) of each contributing author.

File 2: Main Manuscript

A Microsoft Word file containing the complete manuscript, including the introduction, methodology, field analysis, tables and figures, and references.

This file must be completely anonymized and must not contain the names of the authors or any information that could reveal their identities.

The manuscript should be prepared using 12-point Simplified Arabic font with single-line spacing (1.00) for Arabic text, and 12-point Times New Roman for English and French text. The page size should be 16 × 23.5 cm.

The article should generally not exceed 20 pages (approximately 6,000–8,000 words). However, the Editorial Board reserves full discretion to consider longer manuscripts when they constitute in-depth empirical studies or comprehensive systematic reviews.

File 3: Abstracts and Keywords

A separate file containing two abstracts: one in the language of the manuscript and the other in English, together with the keywords (no more than 5 keywords).

Each abstract should be between 150 and 250 words, presented as a single continuous paragraph summarizing the objectives, methodology, sample and research instruments, and the main findings.

  • The manuscript must be free from spelling, grammatical, linguistic, and typographical errors.

  • For empirical studies, authors should follow established research methodology, including a clear presentation of the research problem, methodological procedures, research design, sample, research instruments, statistical methods, and the presentation and discussion of findings.

  • The journal adopts the American Psychological Association (APA) referencing style. In-text citations should include the author's full name followed by the year of publication and page number in parentheses, or the author's full name followed by the year in parentheses.

  • The reference list must be provided at the end of the manuscript and arranged alphabetically in accordance with APA style.

  • References in Latin script: All bibliographic references in the reference list must be written exclusively in Latin characters. Authors submitting manuscripts containing Arabic-language references must transliterate the bibliographic details of Arabic references into Latin characters. The official English title of the reference should be included where available from the publishing journal or source. If no official English title is available, an English translation of the title should be provided in square brackets [...], followed by (In Arabic) at the end of the reference, in accordance with the American Psychological Association (APA) referencing guidelines.

  • Articles published in the journal represent the views and opinions of their authors alone.

  • Authors are responsible for submitting manuscripts formatted in accordance with the journal's publication requirements.

  • For manuscripts submitted by multiple authors, all individuals who have made substantial contributions to the article must be listed as authors. Primary authorship, the order of authorship, and other publication credits should be based on the relative scientific or professional contributions of the individuals involved, regardless of their status. As a general principle, a student should be listed as the primary author of any multi-authored publication that is substantially derived from the student's thesis or dissertation.

  • Copyright and Self-Archiving Policy: Authors should be aware that the International Journal of Economic Studies operates under an Open Access Policy. Authors retain full copyright and publishing rights to their work without restriction. Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit and self-archive all versions of their articles—including the submitted version (Preprint), the accepted manuscript after peer review (Postprint), and the final published version—in institutional and university repositories, subject-specific repositories, or personal websites immediately upon publication, without any embargo period or time restrictions.
